Back in the US of A
After almost 3 weeks back in the OC (Old Country, not crappy Berverly Hills 90210 remake), the return to the US is more of a jolt than I thought. I can drive again – I have my own place again – I can get Starbucks again 😉
I missed the old place it has to be said, and the changes were a bit worrying considering it has only been 9 months. From complete remodelling of the kitchen to the changes in “significant other” personnel in some key areas it was a bit disconcerting. My little sister is now driving, my youngest brother is nearly as tall as I am (and has the voice to match), my brother Andrew is gunning for top honours in his class and may well be running an answers hotline for money on our house phone for his desperate classmates. Oh, and apparently I am allergic to my own house and never knew it…..
Still, some things stay the same – the drinking, the moaning , the fighting – all reassuringly similar. Philipa (who actually reads this!) proved that I am not the only family member that gets the hiccups when completely pissed, and James showed that I am not the only one that has foot-in-mouth syndrome – there are things your grandmother should not hear!
Now I have to go home and clean up before Jenny arrives (on Sunday – YAY!) but before I do, I found this page while rooting around on one of my accounts – I thought I’d lost Julia’s pages when I lost the Urban ISP hosting a while back, but at least the original page has survived
