Inspired by Brian’s prolific uploading (10,000+) to Flickr, I’ve cleared out some of my own backlog of photos and there are several new sets up on my Flickr page. It also means that one of my favourite photos (below) is up:
This is sunset at Sagres in Portugal (the old end of the Western World) as viewed from the cliff top over the Atlantic ocean.

I take a lot of heat from Jenny about my ever-changing accent. I mutate to mimic whatever accent I am hearing back….
Even when I lived in Dublin I got stick over it – when I talk to my brothers and family I sound one way, when talking to my TCD classmates I sound another. I do not make an effort to do this, it is effortless. In fact, if I try to keep one accent regardless of my surroundings that is what feels forced and “put on”.
I was planning on replacing my aging Sony Cybershot DSC P5 before our trip to Savannah at the start of December – it’s big and bulky by today’s standards and 3.2 megapixels just doesn’t cut it these days. That being said, I remember when I got it back in 2002 and how everyone thought it was tiny and the picture quality was amazing….
Anyway, Jenny’s Dad loves his photography and so I asked him for advice on what to get in terms of a point-and-shoot camera with a view to getting a DSLR later if I think it is worthwhile.
Jen, Scott, Lon and I attended the annual Yuletide Madness party in the National Press Club Saturday night in DC. The pictures are in the usual places. Scott hooked us up with some VIP tickets (nice) and it was a good night for a good cause (I even shaved!) and there was much drinking going on Between this and the work party next Saturday it may be time to invest in a tux – the rental expenses are piling up….
Three new sets up on Flickr today (or the album):
Maryland Terps Vs Wake Forest Preparation for the night of 100 Elvises Our trip to Savannah What do they have in common? Well, It was my first College (American) Football game, the first time I have ever seen sideburns dyed and my first time in Georgia Technorati Tags: Maryland Terps, Elvis, pictures, sideburns, Savannah, Georgia

Joe recently shared some of his more interesting referrals from his logs, which inspired me to take a look at mine. The top three search terms are:
Pictures/Pics of Pizza Herpes Triangle CU500 Hacking In each case, I am on the first page for search, however a little worryingly I get top billing for number 2 in that list. Amazingly, the term is not as popular as I had thought As per Joe, here is some proof:
The eagle-eyed among you will notice some new content on the right hand side of the page. The page is a guide (with appropriate caveat) on how to disable the confirmation sounds on the LG CU500 phone. While this may not sound like a big deal, it is probably the biggest drawback I can list about the phone now that I have been using it for some time and as I Googled around I realized I was not the only one.
Too tired to do a write up on it, but the pics are up at least – all the pics are to be found as a set in the gallery or in the usual spot on Flickr

I took a little walk on Saturday down toward Arlington cemetery – I hadn’t intended to go that way, it just kind of happened that way. Hence I did not have my camera with me, which was a pity because with the onset of Autumn there were some very nice views. My phone had to act as a stand in but is not quite up to the task – this is one of the shots I took, you can find the rest in the Flickr set.
Tomoko (as Maria Sharapova), Matt (as Andy Roddick), Kramer (as Winnie the Pooh), Dave (as Tom Hanks & Wilson from Castaway), Jenny (as a Witch) and I (as a sober Irishman) all attended the 7th Annual “Nightmare on M Street” pub crawl. We started in Rumors at around 6.30 (TK and Jenny Pictured above) and went to Mad Hatter, Ozio and MCCXXIII and were intending to go to Lucky Bar but by then the cenaless brasil lines were insane.
